Gentle Reminder about Dues

The warm weather reminds us that the rivers will be opening up soon and our thoughts will be turning toward moving water. Dues for the 2015 season are due at the beginning of April. Now might be a good time to think about paying them before we start getting the boats ready.  Right now we have 28 households who are either life members or who have already paid for the 2015 season.  There are 58 households whose memberships expire at the end of this month and another 45 households whose memberships expired a year ago. If you aren’t certain of your membership status please feel free to write to me and ask (though I’ll be away from email March 22-28). We’ve played with the idea of putting membership info on the web but haven’t been able to figure out how to deal with privacy concerns. We are beginning to put the calendar of club trips together and membership is required to participate in them.

Dues remain at $10 per person per year, or $15 per household.  If you sign up as a household, please provide the names of all the people in the household. We also have life memberships available for $100. Then you won’t have to worry each year about whether you are current or not. There is no household (family) option for life memberships–everyone who wants one has to pay the full $100. There is also a business membership available for $150 which carries certain advertising privileges.

To renew (or join for the first time) either download a membership form to print, fill out and mail in, or, even easier, use our online form with payment through Paypal.

New Online Membership Form

It is now easier than ever to join the Fairbanks Paddlers and support the club. Participation in club trips requires joining the club and completing the waiver.

With our new online membership form and PayPal integration, you can now complete and submit your membership form online and pay securely with a credit card or your PayPal account.

Regular 1 year memberships are based on the Alaskan paddling season. They are effective from April 1 through March 31, and are not pro-rated. In addition to the one year individual ($10), household ($15), and business ($150) memberships, the club is now offering a lifetime individual membership for $100. If you choose this option, you’ll never have to remember to pay your dues again.

In the past, many members have only remembered to renew their memberships when they participated in a club trip or attended the annual meeting at the end of the season. They had to fill out the paper membership form and write a check or pay cash. You can still download, print, fill out, and mail the traditional PDF  Membership Form along with your check, or you can register and pay online.

Now you can go to the “Join” page in the menu, or click “Join Fairbanks Paddlers” in the right sidebar on the front page to renew your membership or join the club and pay your dues.

Have you checked your membership status lately (it’s on the mailing label on your latest newsletter)?  Many memberships expired at the end of March.  To join or renew download a Membership Form and mail it in with a check.  Sorry, we can’t handle payments online.
