Three former Fairbanksans recently spent a month traveling and kayaking in Chile, enjoying Summer Solstice sunshine in December and warm whitewater in January. Last July two Fairbanks paddlers (John Morack and Tom Paragi) and a couple from Outside canoed an 80 mile loop through BIG lakes and a glacial river in Katmai National Park. They will share a 40 minute program of still and video photography including brown bears and the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes.

The Tanana Valley Watershed Association is sponsoring a Noyes Slough clean-up on Saturday, September 10th. The Denali Adventure Festival is now over two weekends: Aug. 13 and Aug. 19-20. The Nenana River Wildwater races have been re-scheduled for August 19 and 20, eliminating the conflict with the Six-Mile Festival.
